01Respect for residents’ living spaces

Working in a living environment

Planning takes account of how rooms, shared spaces and treatment rooms are used: residents’ movements, meals, care routines and staff circulation. The scope is agreed with management and those responsible for hygiene.

  • Rooms after a resident moves out or an infectious episode
  • Lounges and dining rooms
  • Treatment rooms and floor service areas
  • Furniture and equipment, where compatible
  • Shared equipment: chairs, hoists and trolleys
  • Hygiene plan and targeted preventive interventions

02Planning the intervention

An intervention coordinated with your teams

When several areas are involved, a phased plan helps coordinate the work with daily life in the facility. It sets out when each area is available, how the cycle will run and when it is expected to be returned to use.

Micronebulisation disinfection is carried out using a Swissmedic-certified device.

03Targeted & preventive

Plan targeted interventions and prevention

An infectious episode calls for a targeted intervention coordinated with care leads. At other times, reviewing the hygiene plan can help identify where additional disinfection may be useful: after a resident moves out, for shared equipment or when a unit returns to service. The schedule takes residents’ movements and room availability into account.
